Asta Stumer

Hi my name is Asta,

I always loved practising yoga as a student for many years so in 2022 I decided to become a teacher myself so I could help students find their passion for this beautiful practise as well.

My style of yoga is more of a restorative blend including pranayama and mediation throughout.

As a mother of 2 young children, I understand how crazy life can be at times and how important it is to find even that small amount of time to ground yourself and yoga is a lovely place to start.

I look forward to meeting and guiding you throughout this journey.

Namaste, Asta Xx

Katy Ananda

Hi, I’m Katy!

I’m a qualified Yoga Teacher, Aromatherapist and Thai Massage Practitioner. I often combine all three of these healing arts in my teaching to create an experience that is meditative, grounding and inspiring: leaving you feeling great and taking with you some simple self-care practices to work into your daily life.

My teaching style is inclusive, student-centred & deeply restorative – focusing on the breath and exploring the sensory experience of movement & stillness. Classes weave somatic practices (fluid, natural, intuitive movements) with breathwork, yoga postures, meditation & deep rest. You can expect an overall experience that is gentle, nourishing & soulful – with a good dose of humour & play. Each session is designed to improve circulation & range of motion, relieve stress & anxiety and enhance your overall wellbeing. You’ll leave practice feeling lighter, brighter & like you’ve had a massage from the inside out!

Alison Anangamohini Pomroy

I began yoga classes intermittently in my 20’s and met BKS Iyengar when he visited Australia in 1983. While in Australia he visited Canberra where I lived and had started local Iyengar Yoga classes. I subsequently wrote to the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. I started teaching yoga early 1986 and the first classes I attended at the RIMYI, Pune, India was October/ November 1986. It has been a life times, romance with Iyengar yoga and India. I love the subtlety and rigour and the active and passive aspects that act as a vehicle to connect the mind internally creating inner space and quietness of the mind. I also developed knowledge of the therapeutic application of yoga under the guidance of Geeta Iyengar. In addition, I spent time in South India, studying Svastha Yoga with Indra and Mohan, who intertwine Vinyasa, therapeutic yoga and the yoga scriptures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Grad Diploma Science
  • Diploma Fine Art
  • Certificate VI in Assessment & Workplace training
  • Senior Teaching Certificate Iyengar Yoga (awarded by BKS Iyengar 1999)
  • Teaching Certificate-Svastha Yoga

Chantelle Sims

Hi, I’m Chantelle and I fell in love with yoga three years ago when a good friend of mine started teaching in Ipswich. I had never practiced yoga before and shyly went along to my first Vinyasa yoga class. What I experienced in that class was so profound and I knew in that moment that something had stirred deep within my soul like I was coming home to myself. When my yoga teacher moved away I struggled to find a Vinyasa class that had the flow I was looking for so I decided to complete my training and create my own.

I practiced my level one training with Being Yoga on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and I will continue to study my level two training towards the end of the year. I am looking forward to learning all I can about this ancient practice. I like to offer beautiful flowing vinyasa classes that focus on moving with the breath and coming together as a collective to experience that feeling that yoga keeps us coming back for.

My classes are very beginner friendly and offer a range of asanas, breath work yin style and meditation. I like my students to walk out feeling better than when they walked into class! Yoga truely is a transformative practice that changes not only our lives but the lives around us as well.

I cannot wait to practice yoga in a dedicated studio within Ipswich to create a community of yogis to share and grow with. I look forward to meeting you on the mat.

Namaste
